How cool is Skype. I mean really. Even though there is the occasional sensation of talking under water or it spontaneously dropping out, who would have thought 20 years ago we would be hopping on our computers and speaking directly to someone on the other end of their computer, or smart phone and it wouldn’t cost anything….well, any extra (above the original cost of the computer, broadband, modem, etc etc!)….it is cool….so cool. Not only that, sometimes you can even see the other person and show your own mug (ie. mug means face for those non-Australian types). Now, that’s worth being grateful for. Not only that, I had a hearing impaired client and we were able to use the chat facility to confirm understanding of things when the translator (I don’t think that’s the right position title for the transcribers for the deaf….none-the-less…..) didn’t quite get it right……VERY COOL!!!! Thank you Niklaz Zennstrom from Sweden and Janus Friis from Denmark you cunning Scandinavian types!
