Man at the Matilda

What a delightful man at the Matilda Service Station, Barry Parade, Fortitude Valley today.  He said to me, “You are so happy.  It’s so nice to see someone so happy.  Usually people come in here and they are complaining.  They complain about all the little things.  I think they forget how lucky they are – we are very lucky in this country and they forget that.”

Couldn’t agree more lovely man.  Thanks for showing me that a simple smile can make a difference.  Our brief meeting today made my afternoon.

It makes a difference when you take time to connect with people – really connect – stop, look at them in the eye and smile.  It’s one way of contributing and adding value to the lives of others.
