Green stuff with coloured stuff…..finely manicured stuff – well not my garden, but others. You gotta a love a garden. Even pulling the weeds out of the sucker brings out some maternal instinct – just gotta take care of the “baby” out the back.
I love the fact I live in a house with a back yard and a garden. I have lived in an apartment before, and to me, it’s just not the same. There is something about being able to be surrounded by plants you have put in the ground yourself and nurtured that fills you with an overwhelming sense of attachment and satisfaction. Even when I neglect it, it comes back after some water and a sprinkling of Thrive. My garden is fairly resilient – if it couldn’t survive without watering during the draught – well – it’s pretty much not in my garden. The exception is the 2 Little Gem Magnolias I had to plant to fill up the space of the ones that died and left big gaping holes…..I am paying attention to them this summer. Also, taking care of the bamboo behind the pool – giving that some lovin’ too.
So, for anyone who has ever toiled in the soil, you’ll know what I mean. Love you gardens – front and back. Thanks for making my house a more beautiful home.
