Foxies, Beaches & Italian Food!

Happy New Year to one and all!

Can’t help thinking that 2012 has a nice feel to it.  Looking forward to all it has to offer.

Well the year is off to a great start for me with lots to appreciate already!  It actually began before the begininng of the new year last night.  My family and I were hosted by the gorgeous Foxover family (the Foxies) who always offer their house and hearts to us freely, with openness and love. They give us a  place to sleep, feed us, our kids play together – it’s fantastic to have such brilliant friends.  Also, Dave and his friends arranged an open mic night at the party in his street last night and my daughter Lily and I were given the opportunity to sing a number of songs together – it was a huge amount of fun!  Best new years in AGES!  So, my gratitude and thanks goes to Karyn and Dave Foxover for just being them.  Thanks guys. x

Also, thanks to the warm and open Rod for sharing his song so far and some engaging conversation until the sun came up this morning! Thanks to Sophia for pulling me up to dance to Dave’s band particularly the cover of The Gun Club’s “Sex Beat” – I haven’t danced like that since……well…..a long time….. I think I danced flat out for about 40 minutes……it was awesome….also loved the cover of The Ramones “Blilzkrieg Bop” too – go Dave and Rod!

Moving away from wonderful people, I just love the fact that we have access to such beautiful beaches in Queensland!  We spent the afternoon at the beach, Lily on her boogie board riding the waves and building sand castles – heaven on a stick!  So very grateful for our wonderful country.

Lastly, thank you to the brilliant food of Via Italia at Mooloolabah – in a word – yum.  What a delightful dinner of the yummiest pizza and calamari salad.  What a treat for new years day!

That’s it for the first day of 2012.  I hope yours was a cracker too!
